This is how I roll!

Some days I sit back and think about how fast time goes by. Here I am now, a grandmother of a beautiful grandson, seems just like yesterday when my girls were his age. Oh yeah and I am a YOUNG grandma, i better add that : )

I'm the one that jumps on the back of the shopping cart and fly down the parking lot to return my cart, or the one that runs thru the woods playing with Asher. Yep, not your typical image of a grandma,  I know. I will find my apron one of these days.

Asher is getting faster and faster each day and even though I am full of energy (*insert sarcasm here), a little help keeping up with him is always welcome news.

That's when these came into play, let me introduce you to my new helpers..

That's right! Grandma got her a pair of Heelys!

When I got my Heelys, the first thing I had to do was installing the wheels, super easy. The shoes come with their own little tool to remove the covers to insert the wheels. Push down till they click into place, that's it. You can pop the wheels back out when you just want to wear them as regular tennis shoes, but that wouldn't be fun, right? I do like that I have that option though.

I chose the white pair because I can pretty well wear them with anything. They do have lots of colors and styles to choose from. I had a hard time choosing between the white ones and these:

I did expect the shoes to be a little on the heavy/bulky side but was pleasently surprised that this was not the case. They are just as comfortable as my regular sneakers.

I was a little unsure at first so I started off by watching the instructional video from Heelys. You can check it out here http://www.heelys.com/SitePages/FootwearTricktionary.aspx . You probably won't see me doing any Grinds and Stalls anytime soon, but within a few minutes I was up and rolling. I never fell or ran into anything, and it didn't take me long to feel comfortable rolling in my Heelys. I did read the Heelys Playbook with tips to stay safe http://www.heelys.com/media/PDFs/PlayBook.pdf and it's not a bad idea to read thru it.

So if you see me zooming by in the parking lot it won't be on the back of a shopping cart anymore, I traded that cart in for my Heelys. Ha...and Asher has no chance. Grandma will be right behind him now, because that is how I roll!
